Dryland Farm Employee | Eastern Washington

Schafer Ranch is a family-owned dryland farming operation in Eastern Washington near Ritzville, seeking a dependable, hardworking team member to join our operation. Position Summary

The Farm Employee will assist with the daily operations of our dryland farm, including equipment operation, fieldwork, maintenance, and general farm responsibilities. This role requires someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes initiative, and is willing to work seasonally extended hours during planting, spraying and harvest.

 

Responsibilities

• Operate farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently

• Assist with planting, spraying, harvest, and other seasonal field operations

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles

• Load, unload, move, and handle farm materials and supplies

• Complete general farm labor and physically demanding tasks as needed

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

• Follow farm safety procedures and directions

• Support other ranch and farm projects as assigned

 

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required

• CDL preferred or willingness to obtain one

• Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor in outdoor conditions

• Mechanical knowledge or equipment repair experience preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Dependable, punctual, and strong attention to detail

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Prior farm or agricultural experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate

 

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions & indoor shop work

• Seasonal long hours during peak planting and harvest periods

• Fast-paced, hands-on agricultural setting
